Are you an experienced electrical engineer who would like to work within a multidisciplinary team throughout the UK.

The role

As electrical engineer you will help provide project and programme management services delivering projects from £5,000 to £10,000,000 including new build and refurbishments.

Our customers, sectors and services we provide in include :

MOD, MOJ, Local authorities, NHS, Rail / highways / transport / tunnels, Education
Healthcare, Housing, Office and business space, Retail, Utilities
The services we provide our mechanical and electrical condition survey, developing the brief and design, technical advisor role, supervision of the construction installation to completion
Below our some of the mechanical and electrical project works which we our involved with :-
Full decentralisation of district heating system at MOD Dalton Barracks and replace with a new independent gas fired boiler / plant rooms serving 65 buildings across the site connected to a new gas infrastructure contract value £4-5 million
Replacement of boilers, water calorifiers across a number of Northants schools. contract value £2-3 million
Construction of a new railway station in Kiddlerminster contract value £1.5 million
The technical advisor role overseeing the installation of a new BMS system into the existing Kensington town hall building. contract value £1.5 million
For the replacement and construction of a new south feeder canteen building at RAF Consinsby contract value £1.2 million
Refurbishment of the existing main guard room and entrance area to the site at RAF fulwood contract value £150k
For carrying out the survey and inspection on the existing mechanical pipework system, producing a feasibility report and recommendations across the whole site at MOJ Lincoln contract value £500k
For the replacement and heating and ventilation system to the sports hall, gymnasium and shower areas at MOJ Wetherby contract value £1 million
Refurbishment of residential accommodation and dinning / kitchen facility to a number of MOD barracks located close to Windsor contract value £2 million
Fit out workshops, canteen, offices etc across the site in a new prison located at Wrexham contract vale £1 million plus
The team has a growing portfolio of clients, and a strong pipeline of future business and an even bigger pipeline of bidding opportunities. This is a team that needs driven individuals who want to contribute and be part of a successful and profitable business.
Provide technically sound mechanical design solutions including all associated reporting and cost estimating.
Provide input into all health and safety aspects where appropriate.
Provide financial leadership for projects within portfolio, commensurate with experience and capability
Compile, communicate and present regular project portfolio financial update reports internally / externally.
Take responsibility for the commercial performance of all projects managed.
Liaise with all Client and internal Amey stakeholders/support functions to achieve project/team objectives
Maintain and provide accurate reporting on Commercial/Quality/Timescale aspects of projects at agreed frequencies.
Comply with procurement processes and actively review and manage supply chain performance in association with procurement colleagues.

Skills:

Electrical Building Services Design Experience
Experience of various Contract Forms and Conditions including NEC/JCT/Target Cost etc.
Experience of Contract Administration.
Thorough knowledge of CIBSE Design Guides and relevant British Standards.
Competent to provide technical review of projects within the sphere of their technical competence
Sound knowledge of Building Regulations, Planning, H&S and other legislation
Computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS Office suite to include Microsoft Project.
Understanding of H&S legislation and particularly CDM Regs
CSCS card or ability to hold relevant professional card.
Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to obtain MOD / MOJ Baseline Security Clearance
Ability to use AutoCAD
Experience of using NES / HEVACOMP/ cable and lighting calculations and other relevant design / CA software.

Attending client and contract meetings

Qualifications:

Chartered / Incorporated Membership (CEng / IEng) of CIBSE, or relevant and equivalent professional body (or approaching professional qualification).
HNC/HND or related degree in electrical engineering or building services.
